About the Merchant AI team

We're a small team working almost like a startup inside the company. Our focus? Using machine learning and a serious amount of data---1.2 billion transactions and counting---to improve life for merchants and the teams that support them. The role

As the new ML Engineer in the Merchant AI team, you'll help us build and scale AI-driven solutions---everything from smarter chatbots to advanced data pipelines and user-facing features. You'll have an impact on both our technical direction and the everyday experience of Nordic merchants.

In this role, you will

• integrate and deploy ML models for real-time and batch inference

• optimise model training, testing and deployment pipelines (MLOps/DevOps)

• help develop and maintain our data workflows

• apply good software development practices for maintainable, tested code

• contribute to a cross-functional team working closely with product and data

About you

You are curious and eager to experiment - you like to try things out and learn as you go. You have a "maker mindset" - you are quick to build and iterate, rather than just talk about ideas. You love working in a team and pride yourself in your ability to collaborate with peers with various technical backgrounds. You are a team player at heart and you enjoy sharing what you know. You communicate well in English.

We would love if you are experienced within..

• Cloud-native architectures and operations

• Docker and Kubernetes

• Working with large language models (LLMs): context engineering, evaluation, possibly fine-tuning

• DevOps and MLOps best practices

• Python (our main language), with some .NET or Golang a plus

• ML toolkits: pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, Transformers, PyTorch, Matplotlib

• Comfortable with data engineering

It would also be nice if you have..

• Experience with RAG pipelines, vector databases, advanced LLM tuning

• Knowledge of data architectures (OLTP, OLAP, etc.)

• Experience in Databricks
