We are seeking passionate and experienced Safety, Risk & Reliability Consultants to join our advisory team in Bergen. This role sits at the heart of our mission, working intimately with maritime clients worldwide to deliver the foundation required for risk-based decisions in operational and technical matters. Our client base is broad and diverse, encompassing large entities such as IMO, EMSA, flag states, international ship owners, navies, shipyards, and operators.
Industry Transformation and the need for expertise:
The maritime industry is undergoing rapid and profound transformation spurred by decarbonization, energy efficiency measures, digitalization, and the emergence of autonomous and digital ship systems. These changes drive complexity and interdependency in ship system design, human factors, and operational processes. With new hazards and unfamiliar risks arising, our approach is multidisciplinary, integrating human, organizational, and technical perspectives to manage risk comprehensively and assure inherently safe designs.
To respond to evolving client needs and reinforce our capabilities, we are expanding our team of technical risk consultants, focusing on specialties such as emerging technologies, decarbonization, navy vessel design and operations, autonomous ships and remote operations.
Are you ready to make an impact?
We are looking for professionals ready to leverage their skills and experiences to tackle complex challenges, working hand-in-hand with a dedicated team and our clients. Are you:
...passionate about ensuring safety is embedded in all emerging maritime technologies?
...experienced within the maritime, navy, offshore, or energy sectors?
...self-driven, solution-oriented, and capable of steering projects to success while nurturing client relationships?

-
Carry out technical risk assessment studies, ranging in complexity and scope, to address client needs with precision and expertise.
-
Drive innovation and the development of new services and risk assessment methodologies, particularly within emerging technologies, autonomy, and remote operations. Remain abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks, proactively addressing challenges within the maritime sector.
-
Own and execute projects from inception to completion, including marketing and bidding activities, project management and delivery, drafting technical reports, preparing presentations and customer follow-up and relationship management.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in engineering (preferably mechanical, electrical or marine technology), or a related field. Applicants with equivalent experience and qualifications will be considered.
-
Background in maritime, navy, offshore, or energy sectors. Candidates with operational or technical experience from navy vessels, especially in machinery, mechanics, or electrical disciplines, are strongly encouraged to apply.
-
Experience with risk analysis, digitalization/automation, remote operations, technical safety, future fuels and ship systems. Knowledge of the shipping industry and/or ship design and systems is advantageous.
-
For you to succeed as a consultant in our section, you should be self-driven, analytical, customer oriented and motivated by complex challenges. Strong project management capabilities, able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously. Effective facilitator in meetings and workshops, able to engage both small and large teams.
