What we’re looking for

Serve as the custodian of internal and external data sources related to market insights in the shipping and logistics sectors. Coordinate data availability, harvest, structure, and present both internal and external data to support decision-making and strategic discussions. Collaborate with the VP Global IR & MI to shape the company’s market outlook and prospects.

Additionally, assist the IR team in quarterly and annual reporting by presenting market views internally and externally. Develop models to aid senior management in their decision-making processes. Participate in ad hoc projects across the finance group, led by the CFO/Finance. Support the IR function, including potential involvement in roadshows and investor meetings/communications.

This role offers significant exposure to various parts of the organization, including Customer Growth, Shipping, Logistics, and Group management.

Accountabilities

• Be the driving force of the company’s Market Insight area and manage key initiatives related to Market Insight and IR.

• Gather, organize, and structure internal and external data sources to support decision-making and form the basis for market understanding and ad hoc decisions.

• Establish Market Insight as a hub that consolidates, integrates, and develops the company’s external and internal data and insights.

• Maintain and develop the supply/demand model for shipping in collaboration with OPEX, BPM, and other relevant teams.

• Provide key analyses and recommendations, creating presentations and reports for internal decision makers.

• Conduct market and competitive analysis, assessing industry trends and their impact on the company’s market position.

• Support Group management in understanding market trends, challenges, and opportunities.

• Participate in ad hoc projects across the finance group

Knowledge and Skills

• Degree in finance/business administration or engineering with a finance focus.

• Minimum 3 years of experience from a similar position or other relevant experience from the industry. With longer relevant experience we might consider a manager level.

• Strong integrity.

• Analytical, structured, and curious, with the ability to execute tasks independently and in close collaboration with business units.

• Commercial mindset with the ability to connect the dots between research and business.

• Interest in and understanding of the stock market and its drivers.

• Solid modelling skills, including the ability to use programming to optimize modelling and data gathering.

• Proficiency in Power BI and Python or other programming languages.

• Ability to leverage AI to improve work processes and data gathering.

• Fluent in English, both written and oral.

• Good knowledge of and interest in the shipping and logistics industries, as well as analyst communities and capital markets.
