Join AutoStore in a pivotal role where you will lead global customs and trade compliance activities for a truly international organization. This is an opportunity to shape and strengthen compliance processes across multiple regions, ensuring accurate documentation, seamless ERP integration, and adherence to evolving global regulations. You will provide strategic leadership in developing policies, monitoring regulatory changes, and driving proactive initiatives that support AutoStore’s rapid growth and innovation. Acting as a trusted advisor on tariff classification, VAT implications, and Incoterms, you will play a key role in enabling smooth intercompany and cross-border transactions. Additionally, you will spearhead readiness for Norway’s new Digitoll system and deliver impactful training programs to build compliance expertise across the organization.
Key Responsibilities-
Ensure accurate and timely submission of customs declarations, pre-arrival notifications, permits, and related documentation.

Manage documentation for Free Trade Agreements and monitor tariff and duty calculations, including U.S. requirements.

Classify products and maintain accurate HTS codes and Country of Origin data; update ERP systems for automated compliance.

Lead internal compliance audits, implement corrective actions, and act as primary liaison during customs inspections.

Develop strategies to minimize penalties, delays, and financial exposure in global trade operations.

Ensure compliance with Incoterms and shipping terms; advise internal teams to reduce risk and clarify responsibilities.

Collaborate with VAT experts to monitor implications for intercompany and cross-border transactions.

Prepare and implement processes for Norway’s Digitoll system and other emerging customs technologies.

Design and deliver internal training programs to build organizational knowledge on customs and trade compliance.
-
Monitor and interpret regulatory changes, ensuring proactive compliance and continuous improvement of policies.

8--10 years of experience in global customs and trade compliance, including U.S. and EU regulations.

Strong knowledge of international trade laws, customs regulations, VAT implications, and Free Trade Agreements.

Proven ability to classify products accurately and maintain HTS codes and Country of Origin data.

Hands-on experience integrating customs compliance processes with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).

Expertise in U.S. tariff calculations, including Section 232 duty rates, and global tariff management.

Solid understanding of Incoterms and shipping terms; ability to advise internal teams to minimize risk.

Experience leading internal audits, managing corrective actions, and acting as liaison during customs inspections.

Ability to design and deliver internal training programs on customs and trade compliance.

Familiarity with Norway’s Digitoll system and readiness to implement new digital customs processes.

Excellent communication skills for collaboration with tax, logistics, finance, and supply chain teams globally.
