About the Unit
We at Yara are part of a global network collaborating to profitably and responsibly solve some of the world's key challenges - resource scarcity, food insecurity and environmental change.
The Energy Sourcing department is part of Yara's Supply Chain organization: a global function in the organization responsible for optimizing of energy, raw materials and third-party sourcing, as well as logistics and customer service centres. Our department reports to the SVP of Direct Procurement and drives Yara's strategic procurement efforts within energy in close collaboration with other Yara units.
Energy Sourcing negotiates and manages energy supply contracts for all Yara plants and units worldwide to ensure cost effective and reliable supplies whilst leveraging market opportunities. It is also responsible for optimising Yara's position in the carbon markets, as well as energy lobbying in selected countries.
The company's annual consumption of energy is presently close to 90 TWh. Natural gas is the largest category spend within energy, but Yara also consumes considerable quantities of hydrogen, natural gas liquids and electricity. The Energy Sourcing department consists of six persons in various locations.
*We are currently looking to recruit an Energy Sourcing Manager to strengthen the team. One of the responsibilities of this Sourcing Manager will be to work closely with Yara's New Business Unit to identify, develop and commercialize new business opportunities within renewable energy sources. * Responsibilities
- Maintain indepth understanding of energy market developments and energy regulations.
- Drive the analysis of trends and regulations in the energy space to proactively identify market opportunities related to the ongoing transition of the energy sector.
- Lead the negotiations of energy contracts and take ownership for signed contracts.
- In cooperation with other units, develop plant operating strategies that minimize energy costs.
- Develop new suppliers and supply options.
- Maintain and develop strong relations with external suppliers and internal customers.
- Develop and defend Yara's position on energy regulations in the relevant forums.
Profile
- Master's degree in business, engineering, law or natural sciences.
- 10+ years of commercial experience from the energy sector preferably within electricity and/or renewables. Experience from conducting negotiations and drafting legal documents is required.
- Strong analytical skills and a curious mind.
- High energy level, selfmotivated, enthusiastic and diligent.
- Collaborative team player with high standards and business ethics.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and proactive information gathering/sharing
- Strong written and verbal command of English.
- Willingness to travel.
