About EAT EAT is an international non-profit linking food, health and environmental sustainability across science, business and policy. Launched five years ago, EAT is now an independent global organization with three core partners: the Stordalen Foundation, the Stockholm Resilience Center and the Wellcome Trust. The primary objectives of EAT are to expand scientific knowledge; ask innovation along the food value chain; and facilitate the development of evidence-based policies to radically transform the global food system to be able to deliver healthy, affordable food to a growing world population. About the role:
EAT is looking for an ambitious and passionate individual who wants to play an active role in food system transformation. As an Engagement Officer, you will be part of the EAT Engagement Team. The team is responsible for EAT's strategic engagements, leading and coordinating EAT's flagship events, supporting and informing the organization's program, advocacy, and policy activities, and inspiring stakeholders to partner with and advance EAT's work.
We are looking for an experienced event manager who can plan, oversee and execute successful events that will impact and contribute to transforming the global food system.
Responsibilities :
-
co-ordinate the planning and execution of key events or varying size simultaneously, including the EAT Stockholm Food Forum, and regional food forums;
-
manage the complete planning, implementation and execution of smaller multilateral events with the United Nations, World Bank, and partner conferences, etc .;
-
liaise and collaborate with strategic and operational stakeholders within EAT and across the EAT network;
-
produce written material including briefs, bios, programs, invitations, newsletters, and reports;
-
source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers;
-
supervise external partners (event coordinators, production teams, caterers, etc.);
-
provide regular updates / maintenance reports to the Head of Engagement.
Position qualifications:
-
minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent, and at least three years' experience working in the field of event management;
-
demonstrated ability to operationalize plans and provide logistical support throughout the event management process;
-
ability to manage complex projects to tight deadlines, sometimes simultaneously;
-
excellent written and oral English (native level);
-
self-reliant, problem solver, detail oriented, structured and disciplined;
-
excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to liaise with government officials, external bodies, volunteers, and other staff in a professional manner;
-
commitment to EAT mission and values;
-
ability to remain calm and respond positively to challenging situations;
-
desire to operate as a team member and leader, and to create a positive experience for all team members;
-
Work and lived experience in Low and Middle Income Countries valued.
