Purpose
The goal of the Senior Technician, Electronics is to assemble, maintain, repair, update, and test complex problems and technologies related to electrical components of the inspection robot modules and other equipment to keep the robot fleet operational. At this level, the job holder is working very independently and with little guidance from others. He is able to document his work in a clear and concise manner, whether that is for department internal purposes, to troubleshoot and communicate results with subject matter experts, or to aid a failure investigation.
Responsibilities
- Repairs complex robot components (base modules, sensor carriers, etc.)
- Modifies and reworks complex robot components according to Engineer Change Orders (ECO)
- Maintains complex robot components (base modules, sensor carriers, etc.)
- Assembles complex robot components (base modules, sensor carriers, etc.)
- Performs and judges complex functional tests of components and issues approvals for system logs
- Provides project support and feedback for new designs from Technology Services and Application Engineering departments
- Supports and leads failure diagnosis for the Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) team
- Supports and leads troubleshooting of tool inspection builds for the Maintenance team
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Technical degree or certification in electronics or similar
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in an Electronic Technician role
- Certification to operate forklifts and overhead cranes preferred
- Experience using direct link communication with an FTP release server to download Macros and program applications
- Experience in an international and culturally diverse environment
- Basic knowledge of ERP Software
- Intermediate knowledge of Terminal Software (e.g. Tera Term)
- Intermediate knowledge of microchip programming
- Advanced knowledge of applicable Test Equipment (e.g. pressure, temperature, loop test equipment, etc.)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Must be proficient in spoken and written English as well as the local language
Skillset
- Experience in handling measuring equipment (oscilloscope, various measuring devices) is required
- Possesses high degree of independence in executing tasks
- Aptitude to learn new technology
- Self-driven learner, motivated and proactive attitude
- Solutions Oriented Mindset: Identifying, defining and assessing problems, acting to address them
- Has experience in creating appropriate documentation and driving continuous improvement processes
