DNV Inspection Northern Europe (the Unit) is part of DNV Inspection and offers a complementary range of inspection and QA/QC services world-wide to clients across industries such as Renewable Energy, Oil and Gas, Heavy Industries as well as Maritime. The Unit is experiencing significant growth and is currently opening a position as Business Development Manager to meet increasing demand and better serve existing and new clients.
Position Outline:
We are looking for an experienced professional with a proven track record that can take charge of our sales/ business development activities. Focus market area is first and foremost Norway, but also stretching into other countries in the Northern Europe region. Solid background from our field of work, right industry background and strong commercial mind-set is required to be successful (ideal candidate has “Do’er -- Seller” profile) .
In the present role you will report to the Area Manager of Northern Europe. The position will be based in Norway, ideally living near one of our hubs in Stavanger, Bergen, Oslo or Trondheim. Travelling is required.
Main Responsibilities:
- On a day-to-day basis drive sales and sales processes, develop business relationships, and execute on the unit’s sales and marketing strategy.
- Support marketing initiatives and help ensure the marketing mix serves the intended purpose.
- Proactively approach targeted clients, identify, and generate business leads/ opportunities
- Sustain existing customers’ loyalty and position yourself as the go-to person for all their needs.
- Develop, maintain, and keep the sales funnel current at all times. DNV Inspection uses Salesforce as CRM solution.
- Actively take part in sales meetings and use the DNV Inspection organization
- Lead preparation of, submit, and follow up Tenders and Bids.
- Take part in regional market communication efforts (events, tradeshows, conferences, exhibitions & webinars).
- Take-on/ organize selected technical work in projects on an as-needed basis.
Position Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of successful experience in commercial work/ sales B2B from relevant companies
- BSc degree in technical discipline preferred, but long hands-on experience may compensate.
- Solid technical insight allowing efficient communication, as well as strong ability to understand client’s concerns and challenges and translate into business.
- Experience from international work and cross-border transactions
- Successful track-record from reputable companies within the energy industry space is required (oil-service, EPC, operator, drilling ++)
- Strong business orientation; efficient, autonomous, and accountable, with an entrepreneurial and market development mindset. Customer first!
- Enthusiastic, dynamic, resilient, and adaptable to changing circumstances.
- Strong interpersonal relationship capabilities, with ability to work both alone and in a team setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Mother tongue Norwegian and fluent English required.
- Strategic mindset while at the same time keeping attention to detail.
- Structured way of working. Able to keep track of many activities running in parallel and plan ahead.
- Ability and willingness to travel -on an as-needed basis.
