Piping Engineer
We are looking for Piping Engineers to join our Engineering Team in Sandnes and Bergen, reporting directly to the Discipline Lead Piping.
Key responsibilities (not limited to)
- To ensure that the applicable legislation and standards are applied across all aspects of piping delivery to the Project. These include: NORSOK, British Standards, API, Company procedures and processes, Client codes and standards, HS&E Regulations (including LOLER) and EU Directives.
- To identify and implement safe, cost effective, fit for purpose, field proven designs.
- To maximise opportunities within design, to improve rig operability and maintainability.
- To provide engineering solutions that demonstrate added value to both Archer Operations and Client.
- To provide technical interface with all other discipline engineers and Subcontractor and Specialist Engineering Vendors.
- To identify deviations to standards where necessary, ensuring acceptance of Client Technical Authorities.
- To report progress against project plans to the Project Engineer/Manager/ Discipline Lead Piping Engineer, noting any areas of concern and identifying corrective actions.
- To report utilisation to Discipline Lead engineer.
- To meet the requirements of the agreed schedule identified within the project plan for the Piping deliverables as assigned by the Project Engineer/ Discipline Lead Piping Engineer.
- To ensure that the cross discipline Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Maintenance and Operational requirements are accounted for within the design.
- Responsible for checking and/ or approval of discipline design deliverables, calculations, specifications, drawings, packages and technical procedures.
- Preparation, verification and check of engineering documentation and Vendor documentation.
- Preparation of work descriptions and work package documentation required for fabrication, offshore installation and As built red line mark up.
- Preparation and knowledge of work descriptions into mechanical completion and commissioning activities.
- Prepare requisitions for bill of materials required for fabrication and offshore installation.
- Knowledge to PDMS and Microstation as useful tools.
- Challenge the discipline work processes. Be able to think of simplification of the discipline workflow.
- On request, participate in MC Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) on Vendor site.
- On request, participate in MC Fabrication, and sign out MC check list.
- To conduct offshore surveys and prepare offshore survey reports, as required.
- To respect colleagues, clients and subcontractors at all levels, dealing with any dispute or conflict in a professional and personable manner.
- Reporting work load to the Discipline Lead Piping Engineer.
- Knowledge to customers LCI procedure.
- Any other reasonable duties as specified by Line Manager.
Experience:
- Batchelor Degree or Technical College with long relevant experience.
- Minimum 4-5 year of relevant experience from Oil and Gas industry
- Valid health certificate
- Offshore certificate
