Help us develop, extend and improve our global energy transition and ocean system models!
Climate change is a defining feature of our century. DNV GL aims to better understand sustainability issues, and its Group Research and Technology unit works on two related themes: Energy Transition and Ocean Space. As a key player in the maritime and energy industries, DNV GL forecasts the energy future, and aims to better understand interacting issues in ocean biology and commercial activities. We are now seeking two modelers to strengthen our team.
The work will be undertaken as part of the Energy Transition research programme, which is an integrated part of Group Technology and Research, the strategic long-term research & innovation division of DNV GL, mostly internally funded.
We are seeking candidates that will help develop, extend and improve our global energy transition and ocean system models and resulting publications, as well as participating in customer projects. The successful candidate will over time get the change to transition to our business areas.
Key tasks:
- Work as part of the modelling team, with shared responsibilities for the tasks listed below
- Further development of our system dynamics simulation models depicting respectively the world's energy transition and interacting ocean space biology and commercial processes
- Work with the DNV GL organisation and outside experts on technologies, costs, drivers and barriers for demand and supply alternatives, and incorporate the input into the model
- Process and visualize large datasets for input and output data
- Document the work and the model, and write and present the results as part of DNV GL's published Outlooks
- Communicate and apply the results of the Outlook in business settings for DNV GL and stakeholders
- Work with our business units in commercial applications of the Outlooks
