Engine Mechanic
Responsibilities and contributions
We are now looking for an Engine Mechanic to join our offshore operations in Norway.
The Engine Mechanic is responsible for performing different tasks related to the operation and maintenance of the engines. The Engine Mechanic, also acts as engine room responsible (ERR) and is responsible for the engine watch and engine room alarm management, as well as other normal on duty routines and administration of the maintenance system:
- Supervise engine room operation and maintenance
- Supervise execution on the maintenance plan, tracking performance
- Monitoring engine operation and manage the engine alarm system
- Managing engine operation documentation, including engine logs
- Inspecting machinery, tanks, bilge and pump-rooms
- Monitoring gauges, alarms and general conditions of machinery and equipment
- Updating the engine-room log and CMMS system.
- Comply with company safety standards, policies and procedures
- Maintain a safe area for task assigned. Good housekeeping for work place at the end of each tour so as to avoid safety hazards for other operations
- Operation and maintenance of the engines
- Other relevant maintenance tasks
- Responsible for the safe and efficient execution of duties in accordance with the management system, instructions and training within Maersk Drilling.
Required competencies
- Minimum 3 years working experience, preferably including 1 year in the offshore industry
- Background as craftsman preferred
- Knowledge to CMMS system
- Solid experience with diesel engines
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Experienced in plant operation and maintenance of machinery such as:

- Air compressor

- Centrifugal-/piston pumps
-
- Winches
-
- POT water production plant
-
- other mechanical units
- Preferably fluent in both English and Scandinavian language
