Rainforest Foundation Norway (RFN) is one of Europe’s leadingorganisations in the work to protect the world’s rainforests and strengthen the rights of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IP and LC), in cooperation with IP and LC and environmental organisations. For more than three decades, RFN has built up an engagement in partnership with national civil society organisations.
We are seeking aFinance Adviser to be responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering processes related to the country team’s financial management in line with RFN procedures.
Location: RFN has it`s headquarter in Oslo. The role will be based in Oslo. The position will require work across multiple time zones, extensive travel, and collaboration with colleagues in different countries.
Key responsibilities:- Carry out assessments and analyses on financial management and guide and support others in RFN within the area of responsibility.
- Contribute to developing policies and procedures and to implement relevant programmes and processes
- Entail frequent internal communication within the department and with other departments to coordinate and quality assure processes.
- Entail frequent external communication to advise, inform, and guide
- Lead /contribute to departmental projects, task forces and working groups.
The list of key responsibilities is not exhaustive. Other tasks and responsibilities can be added, including tasks outside the described area of responsibility.
Qualifications, skills and experience- Advanced knowledge in financial management acquired through higher education (normally a master's degree) and relevant experience. In most cases, formal education can be compensated for by documented and relevant experience.
- Able to work independently with limited guidance from a manager
- Experience in multicultural and international working environment settings
- Fluency in written and verbal English is required, and a professional understanding of Indonesian is required.
- A strong communicator who excels at active listening and produces cogent and polished writing
- Experience from development cooperation and with civil society organisations is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in relevant tools for the area of responsibility such as excel, spreadsheets and experience with using finance systems
- Demonstrates experience in assessing opportunities, challenges, and stakeholders with which to engage
- Personal attributes -strong interpersonal and analytical skills with problem-solving ability
