Lead UI/UX designer
How can technology empower struggling students? How do we help parents amplify their kids' learning? How can we help teachers spend less time clicking and more time teaching?
These are just some of the questions the itslearning UX team is tasked with answering.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate designer to help shape the next generation of our learning platform.
As a team member you will work closely with other designers, UX researchers, product owners, and developers to create innovative learning solutions used by seven million people. You'll be central in our ongoing effort to establish a leading human-centered design practice.
Who you are
To land this job you need strong hands-on design skills as well as the following qualities:
- Craft: You have a solid portfolio demonstrating a human-centered approach and a strong aesthetic sense. You have a robust understanding of usability, UI patterns, design principles and accessibility.
- Passion : You have a deep interest in people and a drive to change things for better.
- Empathy : You have the ability to connect with others and understand their emotions, goals, problems and motivations.
- Humility : Although you are highly confident in your capabilities, you know well that your journey is far from complete and that you don't have all the answers. You care more about shipping the best solution than your solution.
- Learning mindset : You have a relentless curiosity and always look for opportunities to grow yourself and those around you.
- Communication : You communicate your ideas clearly and can articulate the rationale behind every decision.
- Team player : You recognise thatUX is a team sport and play well with others in and outside of the team.
- System thinking : You have a considerate approach to complex design challenges.
What you will do
In our team few days look the same as we constantly face new challenges. These will be your main responsibilities:
- Challenge us : You always look for things to improve, and help accelerate our ongoing transition from tech-focus to a truly human-centered company.
- Shape our practices : You will take on ownership for developing the processes and tools that help our design practice become more effective.
- Redefine our design language : You will lead the team's effort to create an all-new product experience. Together with the team you will develop and maintain a strong design system to serve our teams and delight our users.
- Conceptual design : You will craft a strong vision that translates user needs into beautiful, intuitive and engaging interfaces and interaction flows.
- Put people first : We want you to meet users as often as you can to ensure every choice is based on consideration for them.
- Coach teammates : You bring out the best in those around you and contribute to our in-house UX community of practice.
- Partner with engineers : You will oversee that the implementation is accessible, performant, and in line with your vision.
