The Aker BP production chemistry team deliver safe, efficient and reliable support to operations and projects, and will identify and eliminate production chemical threats such as; organic and inorganic deposition, i.e. scale, wax, asphaltene, internal corrosion in pipelines and process equipment, H2S, bacterial growth, reservoir souring, separation challenges; emulsion, foaming, produced water quality. The senior production chemist will contribute to this teams deliverables and will be responsible for a number of key aspects in achieving these overall goals.
Tasks:
- Identification and management of risks related to Production Chemistry such as scale, wax, souring, corrosion inhibition, separation etc. and developing mitigation plans to control these risks
- Ensure the production chemistry threats are managed in a predictive rather than reactive manner, and ensure safe operation and to optimise production and chemical injection to control the corrosion/scale or other deposits build-up of the internal process facility for all assets
- Apply Production Chemistry processes and procedures in a consistent manner, including annual plans for each asset
- Identify and implement opportunities to drive optimization and continuous improvement within Production Chemistry
- Pro-actively identify themes for individual issues/incidents, developing trends, learnings, actions closure and sharing
- Participate in relevant networks and technical communities, and ensure learning transfer where this creates value for Aker BP
- Support and implement digitalization efforts
- Support regional chemical management service (CMS) and lab service contracts
- Ensure compliance to Norwegian Legislation and Aker BP standards & processes
Qualifications:
- Master degree in engineering or biochemistry/chemistry
- A Bachelor degree with relevant practical experience can be considered equivalent with a Master degree
- 10+ years engineering experience within production chemistry
- Offshore experience will be considered an advantage
