About the position
Molde University College has a vacant 50 % professorship in Sustainable Urban Transport Policy & Planning. The
position demands that the applicant holds extensive international experience of research and teaching, particularly within
topics related to urban governance & planning, sustainable transport solutions, public transport, parking management,
mobility management and how the public attitudes and behaviour in general can be influenced in order to facilitate the
introduction of sustainable transport schemes. Experience of research project work related to innovative mobility
solutions will also be an important qualification for the position.
Work duties
At present, 45 % of the working time is allocated to research, development, innovation, public relations and science communication. The teaching duties will be within MUC's programs in Logistics/Supply Chain Management in courses on all levels focusing on urban sustainability.
Qualifications
A relevant Ph.D. or an equivalent education is required for employment. Relevant practical-pedagogical competence based on education and/or teaching and supervision is required. Candidates without practical pedagogical competence must acquire this within two years. The appointee will have a particular responsibility to initiate, lead, participate in and sustain research activities within urban sustainability. The applicant's professional competence and personal qualities will be considered as important assets. Applicants may be invited for an interview or a trial lecture as a part of the recruitment process.
The position demands that the successful candidate demonstrate good verbal and written skills in English. Adequate verbal and written skills in Norwegian, or another Scandinavian language, will be an advantage.
We offer
The position will normally be remunerated at gross wage range level NOK 723.200-789.200 a year (given at full position scale, salary level 76-79) For the especially qualified candidate a wider salary range can be considered. There is a two percent deduction for superannuation contribution to the Norwegian State Pension Fund. The appointment will be in accordance with current Norwegian regulations concerning state employees.
