NOV Completion Tools has an immediate opening for a Service Engineer at our facility in Forus, Stavanger. You will join a team of Technician/Service Engineers working with our downhole well Completion and Intervention tools product portfolio.
The work includes assembling, testing, preparing documentation and operating Completion and Intervention tools in the field.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Manager and work with a dedicated operations team. We are looking for a candidate with vast well experience that has worked with operational aspects of Completion and Intervention activities, and is focused on safety and a high degree of quality in everything that is done.
Job Summary:
Offshore position. Build, assemble, test and operate downhole well completion and intervention equipment in the field, both domestic and international.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Quality, Health, Safety and adhere to company's and customers QHSE standards at all times
- Efficiently and properly execute on-site Completion/Intervention operations
- Build, assemble, test and prepare equipment for operations in the field
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and operated within guidelines and policies
- Prepare and complete required documentation
- Provide advice on specific service problems and recommend use of specialized tools, techniques and services
- Communicate effectively with management, client and crew in the planning and execution of service
- Assist with service improvement efforts and suggest improvements
- Advise and support customers on proper procedures and tool capabilities
- Determine the need and use of equipment when on a job
- Ensure supplied equipment is compatible with all other equipment used for job
- Use experience and knowledge of Completion/Well Intervention applications to ensure products and services are of highest quality
- Assist with workshop activities when needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of Completion and Well Intervention tools and their specifications and uses
- Vast knowledge and working experience with Completion and Well Intervention operations, techniques and applications
- Vast knowledge and understanding of well geometry and hydraulics
- Able to understand and calculate flow rates, run rates, velocities, volumes, forces and pressures
- Good mechanical skills
- Trade certificate, preferable Well or mechanical related
- Excellent communication skills - able to interact and communicate effectively with customers and crew
- Excellent technical writing and oral skills in English
- Good organizational skills and able to handle a complex and hectic workday
- Offshore license
