Local Unit & Position Description
Do you want to take part in building and running high quality laboratory tests and help solve our customers' most challenging technical needs?
Our office and laboratory located at Høvik outside Oslo is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our structural laboratory. Our structural laboratory is highly recognized in the industry for its competence and its ability to combine domain expertise and material expertise with state of the art laboratory testing. We have a large range of test machines and an ability to test with loads up to 750 tons. We are currently a team of 50 people working laboratory testing and materials technology.
In the position you will take an active role in the practical execution of laboratory projects. This includes assembly of test rigs, machining of test objects as well as use and maintenance of different types of equipment (hydraulic, mechanical and electronic). You will work closely with the laboratory manager, lab technicians, equipment designers and engineers to in the execution of the projects. You will also frequently be able to interact with customers.
It is essential that you contribute to good and efficient communication between the structural laboratory and technical experts within different areas. We have a high focus on safety and it is expected that you take an active role in the HSE&Q work and development in the laboratory.
Position Qualifications
The successful candidate has:

Completed technical college (fagbrev) or similar (e.g. 2 years "teknisk fagskole") within mechanical disciplines

Experience within one or more of the following fields:
- Formal training and/or practical experience with hydraulic systems/servo hydraulic machines
- Electro/automation/digitalization
- Work on mechanical equipment (Assembly, operation, maintenance)

Documented experience and/or certificates in some of the following areas truck driving, crane and lift operation,

Some experience with hot work (welding, grinding, etc) and machining of materials.

Good command of English- and preferably Norwegian/Scandinavian, both spoken and written
