R&D Engineer
Org. nr: - Stillingsident: 4068868582 Presentasjon av stillingen:
We are looking for a motivated research engineer/early stage researcher with passion for engineering to work on the following project. Please read the description carefully before applying.
The project involves using a wireless communication system for high data rate (~ 5-10 Mbps) video signal transmission. We are using wireless backscatter communication approach to read or download a large volume of data from a remote data source or camera. The target is to read the video signal in real-time and monitor the video or images on a computer screen.
Job Description
The development of the radio system and measurements has been completed. Now, we are looking for an engineer/researcher to fulfill the requirements for a specific data frame structure and architecture to be integrated into the provided wireless technology. The data frame is specific to our technology and may have some common material with the conventional wireless technology. It must consider the synchronization, timing, coding, error correction, preamble selection for multi-antenna implementation, image data integration and some upper-level requirements. We are considering the design of thedata frame structure and implementation on a low power microcontroller or FPGA. So the candidate needs to have excellent knowledge and experience on wireless communication, system implementation and FPGA/ microcontroller programming.
The second task for the candidate is programming and developing a transceiver system using USRP/SDR. The SDR is used to convert the received RF signal to baseband and then the signal sampling is applied to extract the data. The SDR and the other system hardware/ software are controlled using Labview, python or C for the receiver task. The candidate must have excellent knowledge on the wireless communication system design for the receiver to make appropriate communication blocks related to the frame architecture and extract the video/ image data in real-time and develop a simple code to monitor the raw images. It is also required to download some SDR tasks to an FPGA for fast Processing.
Qualification
Excellent knowledge and experienceon wireless communication systems, data frame and architecture design for communications, microcontroller and FPGA implementation, Software defined radio implementation, receiver system, data synchronization and clock recovery circuits, development skills in LabView, Phyton or C are required. Use of LabView as the controller of RF sub-systems with feedback from receiver. Hands-on PCB design and electronic prototyping is required.¿¿
Bachelor, Master, or PhD in electrical engineering, computer science or software engineering or other relevant disciplines
