We are now looking for a Senior Embedded Software Developer for our Stavanger office to strengthen the team developing the next generation of measurement solutions.
The position will be part of the Engineering & Development (E&D) team including embedded software-, embedded hardware-and mechanical design engineers. Together we develop state-of-the-art products for measurement.
Roxar Flow Measurement is an Emerson company providing an industry leading portfolio of solutions designed to optimize oil & gas reservoir performance.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain embedded software for electronics, typically microprocessors, DSPs and mainly in a Linux or RTOS environment using C/C++.
• Clarify and maintain Software Requirements and Design Specifications.
• Expand product functionality and user interface.
• Apply signal processing techniques.
• Implement and adapt algorithms to hardware targets.
• Implement communication protocols and drivers.
• Test and qualify for product release.
• Participate in embedded SW/HW project team efforts including planning, scheduling and technical execution.
• Develop embedded web server for system configuration and diagnostic.
• Develop test frameworks and automated tests.
Required qualifications and experience:
• University/Engineering degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Cybernetics or similar. Relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with developing embedded SW systems.
• Strong upfront design skills coupled with a strong process mind set for quality (design reviews, coding standards, version control, documentation, etc.).
• Good understanding of software development methodology and tools (Object-Oriented Design with C++, UML, Agile, debuggers, emulators, version control systems, static code analyser etc.).
• Experienced with Real Time Operating System (RTOS), embedded Linux or similar.
• Knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Javascript, Tcl or similar is preferred.
• Good embedded system understanding i.e. how different disciplines interact.
• Development & implementation of test methodologies, HW and SW.
• Experience with security measures like encryption, access control and vulnerability management is an advantage.
