Sophisticated tech scale-up seeking talented Java developer for fast paced development
We are a growing company who has gone from 7 to 16 employees in one year, and still growing. We are looking for a competent back end developer who wants scale-up experience from a well-funded, established AdTech company. You have experience with building distributed systems and you have a passion for writing good, clean code.
The position is open for developers working in the Nordic countries.
KOBLER IS A TRUSTED B2B COMPANY LOCATED IN OSLO, NORWAY
Our expertise is semantic text analysis, and we have powered the search engine for the Norwegian Parliament for many years. The last few years we have focused on the AdTech industry. Our goal is to have the most effective and human-friendly advertising products in the industry - both for the advertiser and the consumer. Over the last two years we have proven that this can be achieved without compromising the privacy of the consumer by contextually coupling ads with relevant newspaper articles.
We work with the largest media houses in Norway and Sweden such as Schibsted, Aller, Bonnier and Amedia, and their infrastructure partners Google and Appnexus. Our customers are large and medium sized well-known advertisers like If, Telia, TalkMore, Norwegian, and their media agencies like Red Dentsu X, OMD, Carat, and Vizeum.
THE SYSTEM OF PEOPLE AND TECH MAKING THIS POSSIBLE
The distributed system that makes this possible is developed in-house, runs as a self-service 24/7 and responds to thousands of auctions per second. With very high uptime and strict response time requirements
Kobler consists of people with different nationalities and backgrounds: Sales, product development, software development, data science, operations and testing. Developers working with us are dedicated, curious, team players, and they are motivated by assuming a versatile developer role, covering a wide range of tasks; from early design stages to implementation, deployment, dev-ops, and maintenance.
The company language is English, and the atmosphere is informal with mutual trust. A couple of times per year we find time to socialise outside the office. Nearly all of us have small kids, and we are flexible if you need to work from home every now and then. Going forward we have the ambition to be more on the startup scene and technical conferences, and to have our developers present stuff we are proud of.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We do not expect you to have industry knowledge or to know all of the tools and frameworks we use, but your skills, experience and the complexity of the problems you have solved must be relevant. For this position experience with development of distributed systems is key. Formally you have a higher degree and 2-3+ years of relevant experience. You love to solve small and large problems, and write quality code.
