We are increasing our operation and number of vessels and in parallel we are also strengthening our organization, making it more robust and process oriented. We are looking for 2 new Vessel Leads. Dedicated Vessel lead is a new role and the candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to define best practice for ways of working.
Vessel Lead & Technical Inspector
Do you want to be the key point of contact for all main vessel related activities, and establish and maintain systems so that we have a good information and decision-making process for the vessel? Aker BioMarine is looking for dynamic, proactive and structured colleagues to ensure that our vessels operate predictably, profitably and in accordance with laws and regulations.
Our Vessel Leads are essential in coordinating and managing all activities related to the specific Vessel in addition to being the Technical Inspector for the Vessel. As our link between the Vessel and the supporting onshore organization you are responsible for ensuring a structured and seamless interface between the Vessel and the relevant departments as well as representing the Vessel and its needs onshore. Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Be the key point of contact for all main vessel related activities and establish and maintain systems so that we have a good information and decision-making process for the vessel
- Ensure compliance with all related laws and standards for the Vessel
- Continuous monitoring the vessels as well as plan and execute vessels ongoing maintenance and repairs, including creating preventive maintenance plans
- Plan and manage docking/dry docking in cooperation with Vessel Technical Director
- Ensure coordination between all 3 vessel shifts for any major repairs and /or development
- Provide technical assistance and advice to ships both at home port and overseas
- Regular risk assessment with the objective to reduce risk and non-compliance
Main qualifications:
- Marine Engineer Class I/Ships Electrician or higher
- Preferable experience as Technical Inspector and relevant experience as Marine Engineer
- Experience with understanding of technical drawings and maintenance systems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (English and Norwegian)
