About the job
BISS Sentrum is looking for a PHE teacher to teach their primary and secondary school students.
This position is full-time (100%), permanent and available from 1st January 2025.
We are also looking for a PHE teacher to teach both in BISS Sentrum and in our sister school, BISS Gausel.
This position is full-time (50% in each school), temporary and available from 1st January 2025.
BISS Gausel has 400 students, also from 6-16 years of age.
Key responsibilities
- Planning and delivery of PHE lessons for PYP and MYP students, both as a stand alone subject and skill, and as an integrated part of Units of Inquiry within the PYP/MYP.
- Planning and delivery of PHE as a subject area including: preparation and planning; teaching and assessing; and, reporting on student progress.
- Administration, organisation and support of camping trips in PYP and MYP, and the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Scheme
- Other general responsibilities associated with a teaching position.
Qualifications and skills
- HKDir/NOKUT approved teaching qualifications
- The ability to differentiate learning in the classroom
- Excellent English language skills, both written and oral (minimum B2)
- Some knowledge of the Norwegian language
- The ability to use ICT to support and enhance learning within the classroom
- Experience or knowledge of IB programmes
- Strong interpersonal skills to create good relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
- Ability to follow the IB unit plan model for MYP and PYP (with support from the programme coordinators)
- Experience of organising camping trips for primary and secondary age students and/or the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Scheme, or similar outdoor programmes would be beneficial.
