Project Engineer with Umbilical experience
Aker Solutions' Umbilical, Tie-in, Structures and Tooling Department, based in Fornebu, is seeking a talented project engineer who will be responsible for the delivery of high quality technical output from engineering activities related to the WP's scope and ensuring compliance with PEM, department procedures, project requirements and applicable standards and regulations.
We are looking for a Project Engineer with Umbilical experience who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the subsea market.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Manage own workload and complete assigned tasks within a project/assignment with adherence to defined engineering procedures and practices while under supervision
- Prepare/facilitate, and/or participate in, design reviews within your area
- Create and maintain materials and BoMs in SAP and ensure relevant input is obtained and implemented with regards to NDT, material grade, doc. requirement etc.
- Give technical input to lead engineer, team lead and/or supply chain/procurement department
- Give technical support to sub-contractors and suppliers when requested
- Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to a continuous improvement culture
- Complete material selection and surface treatment assessments
Qualifications and Personal Qualities:
- M.Sc. in relevant engineering discipline with 3-5 years' relevant experience
- Knowledge of and experience in engineering and project execution work processes (PEM) and a general understanding of the business area
- Mechanical design and tooling experience is preferred
- Knowledge in an ERP system, SAP preferred (Templates, doc WF, Material Master, BOMs, NCRs, ECs)
- Experience in some of the phases of a subsea project such as assembly, test FAT/EFAT and delivery phase including logistics
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards
- Good technical, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills (oral and written) and ability to work as a team member
- Ability to plan and prioritise own activities and manage own workload with minimum supervision in addition to working under pressure while maintaining On Time Delivery and Quality mindset
