Job description:
Postdoctoral position in cognitive neuroscience/neuropsychology
The Department of Neuropsychology announces a three-year postdoctoral position in cognitive neuroscience/neuropsychology. The position is founded by the Northern Norway Regional Health Authority.
The postdoctoral fellow will carry out research on the neural processes that underlie the cognitive and behavioral difficulties characterizing Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in adulthood. The functions studied will be attention control, predictive processes, and response inhibition. The project is part of a larger study (¿ The interplay of proactive control, reactive control, and inhibition: A new framework for understanding core ADHD symptoms¿) aimed at understanding the functional and neural basis of ADHD that employs scalp electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), and pupillometry concurrent with cognitive experiments, as well as structural magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI). Data will be recorded from adults with ADHD and from healthy controls. The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in all aspects of the research, but will have a particular focus on analysis of task-related EEG signals (event-related potentials and/or oscillatory activity).
The studies will be conducted at the department of Neuropsychology, Helgeland Hospital in collaboration with the Division of Psychiatry, Vestfold Hospital, the MICC Lab and FRONT Neurolab at the Department of Psychology at the University of Oslo, the Intervention Center at Oslo University Hospital, and the Department of Psychology/Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute at UC Berkeley (USA).
The appointment is for a period of three years, open from October 2019.
