Chief Engineer
One of our vessels needs CHIEF ENGINEER
As Chief Engineer you will lead mechanical and technically work regarding the operation of the vessel, take decisions to avoid emergency situations and pollution. The company have implemented a safety management system (ISM). All employed by Aker BioMarine Antarctic Services AS, shall know their responsibility within this system.
Main task and responsibility:
Responsible for all technically and electrically equipment that are involved in the daily operation of the vessel. This includes but not limited to checking the emergency equipment, responsible for fueling and production of water, maintain the vessels SMS (Safety Management System), make purchases needed to be able to comply according to before mentioned responsibilities within budget.
We need the following qualifications:
• Engine Officer Class 2 Unlimited (for 3000 KW and above) for Norwegian vessels
• Experience from factory trawlers or similar vessels
• Knowledge from hydraulic winch systems, water production, boilers and electrical and automation system
Personal qualifications:
• Good English knowledge
• Enjoy working in team
• Appreciate new challenges
• Have good leader skills
We offer:
• A safe and long-term work place
• Shift rotation: 1 period on board (ab. 3 months) and 2 periods home (ab. 5 months)
• Fixed annual salary
Our trawlers:
• Saga Sea is a 92-meter stern trawler
• Antarctic Sea is a 134-meter beam trawler
• Antarctic Endurance is a 130-meter beam trawler
