Norges Bank Investment Management is seeking a dedicated and results-oriented professional for the position of Analyst in the Social Initiatives Team, which is part of the Corporate Governance area. Corporate Governance conducts the fund's ownership and responsible investment activities. The Social Initiatives Team contributes to the fund's value creation objective through policy development, sustainability analysis and engagement with portfolio companies on the social topics.
What you will do
As an Analyst in the Social Initiatives Team you will contribute to research and analysis aimed at informing the fund's engagements on key social topics, including human rights, anti-corruption and tax transparency. The role offers the right person an opportunity to contribute to and learn from financially motivated dialogue with companies on social topics. You will work closely alongside talented colleagues within the Social Initiatives Team and across the Corporate Governance area, benefitting from their topical expertise across a range of governance and sustainability topics. You will also interact with the fund's internal portfolio managers and other experts across Norges Bank Investment Management. Quantitatively inclined individuals with a topical interest in social issues and a background in economics, finance or law are encouraged to apply.
The position is based in Oslo and will report to the Head of Social Initiatives.
Main responsibilities
- Conducting research and analysis on key social topics to support policy development and engagement with standard-setters, portfolio companies and other stakeholders
- Preparing qualitative sustainability assessments, reports and presentations on social topics, as required
- Contributing to models and tools to enhance availability, quantitative analysis, and use of data on social topics across Norges Bank Investment Management areas
- Providing support to ongoing projects on social topics
- Contributing to a collaborative, dedicated and high-performing team
What you need
- Master's degree in economics, finance, law or other relevant field with strong academic records
- Demonstrated interest in and relevant experience from sustainability analysis on social topics, volume research and quantitative analysis
