A 9 month 100 % position as a researcher is vacant. Drug development, B cell malignancy, Department of Immunology, Oslo University Hospital.

The researcher will work on an ongoing project investigating the efficacy of a drug candidate targeting a B cell malignancy. The project will be led by prof. Ludvig A. Munthe at the Department of Immunology, Oslo University Hospital and RCN CoE PRIMA, University of Oslo. The project is funded by the RCN and a Biotech company in collaboration with the Munthe group. The research group is part of a stimulating and international research environment of about 100 scientists working on various aspects of immunology.

Duties and responsibilities

The candidate will contribute to mechanistic studies and efficacy of a lead drug candidate targeting a B cell malignancy, effect on pathogenic B-cell clones, generation of preclinical data, and translational analyses linking immune phenotypes to therapeutic response, as well as designing assays to investigate drug synergies, and characterization of potential off-target effects.

Qualifications

We seek a highly motivated candidate with a PhD or equivalent degree in immunology, molecular biology, hematology, or a related biomedical discipline.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Documented research experience in B-cell malignancies.
  • A strong background in B-cell biology, including B-cell culture systems, functional assays, and immunophenotyping using multicolor flow cytometry.
  • Experience in development and preclinical testing of targeted therapies or biologics.
  • Experience with xenograft models of B-cell lymphoproliferative disease and in vivo experimental systems and in handling mice (FELASA C approval) would be an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of translational immunology, including mechanisms linking tumor immunology and drug efficacy.
  • Experience in data analysis and interpretation of complex immunological datasets.
