Org. nr: - Stillingsident: 4198763537 Presentasjon av stillingen:
The Medical Department, Helse Bergen announces a PhD scholarship (100% position) for a period of three (3) years. The position is linked to the project "Deciphering mechanisms of regulatory T cells in organ specific autoimmune disorders in order to identify therapeutic targets", funded by Helse-Vest. The position will be part of the research group <> at K2, Faculty of Medicine, University of Bergen https://www.uib.no/fg/endocrine and KG Jebsen center for autoimmune diseases.
About the project:
The aim of the project is to understand how the immune system, with special emphasis on regulatory T cells, works in patients with autoimmune adrenal insufficiency (Addison's disease) and autoimmune polyendocrine syndromes, and to study how one can modulate these T cells to "reverse" or prevent failure in organs. The project will benefit from biological samples linked to the National Register of Organ Specific Autoimmune Diseases (ROAS) and associated biobank. The methodology will include single-cell genomics (the 10-technology platform) and single-cell characterization at the protein level (flow cytometry and mass cytometry (Cytof)). Furthermore, screening methods will be used to study how different drugs affect immune cells from patients. It may also include mouse model experiments.
