DeepOcean has an exciting opportunity for a HSEQ Engineer, who will work with both the project teams and HSEQ team to ensure that our operations are executed in line with internal management system requirements and associated legislation and regulations.
This position is primarily onshore based in Haugesund or Stavanger, however, there will be a requirement for occasional support to operational activities during mobilisations, and some opportunities for offshore work. Employees with offshore experience are encouraged to apply.
Duties and responsibilities- Assist Project Manager with production of project HSEQ documentation, client interface, follow up of HSEQ focus areas and operational support
- Advise and support the various organisational functions in terms of HSEQ matters
- Conduct in depth investigations and reports following accidents, incidents and near misses
- Perform risk assessments in project and on site
- Participate during mobilisations and travel offshore as HSEQ Engineer
- Support the commercial tendering / bid process, ensuring all HSEQS information is accurately reviewed and submitted in accordance with client expectations
- Participation and conducting internal and supplier audits and inspections
- Bachelors or masters in HSEQ/risk management and social safety/nautical science or similar.
- Relevant experience can compensate for lack of education, and offshore employees are encouraged to apply.
- Preferably working experience from HSEQ or subsea-/offshore-/maritime industry
- Good working experience with operational risk assessment
- Can use both English and Norwegian as a working language
- Good organisational and communication skills are essential to succeed on our projects, where we collaborate across functions
- A part of the job is to present in front of groups, so good presentational skills is an advantage
- We are looking for someone who enjoys what they are doing and can take initiative to start tasks and internal improvement projects
- Correct details are important to deliver in all projects, so attention to detail is a necessary skill
- The ability to listen and engage in constructive dialogue will help steer the projects in the right direction
