Senior End User Support Specialist
In order to support our vision to be Best on Water and to support our growth, BW is looking for a highly motivated Senior End User Support Specialist to join our IT team. The right candidate will be responsible for providing support to BW Group user groups, be accountable for the successful resolution of all client computing needs and responding to end user support. This position reports to the Head, Global IT Infra & Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate with the Global Service Desk on Service Desk Agents and Field Services tasks; including installation of computers/printers, and software on client desktop and/or notebook computers.
- Support the IT Global Service Desk Service Delivery Manager to ensure capabilities and SLA in troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware and software configuration problems, and O365 support.
- Assist users in the proper use of their desktop computer and its hardware, the network and all supported software; especially O365.
- Assist users with work requests to Global Service Desk, communicating progress until resolved. Makes end user computing product recommendations, requests price quotes, and submits purchase orders on behalf of clients from various outside vendors.
- Manage vendor(s) to ensure smooth operation of network and client local printers
- Assist in the supervision of Global Services and temporary/contract technical assistants performing routine IT service, maintenance and installation tasks.
- Responsible for Joiner/Leaver process, on-boarding and learning and testing end user technologies on an ongoing basis, taking advantage of the many training opportunities that will be available internally and externally.
- Develop, maintain, and disseminate knowledge of best solutions to recurring client problems to other technicians.
- Create training materials, on a range of IT topics and services. These materials will be posted to relevant sites (portals) for the benefit of the entire user community.
- Visit site offices to ensure the user community are satisfied with the end user IT services provided, recommending and managing continuous service improvements
Qualifications:
- Relevant education.
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a computing intensive or technical support environment desired OR very strong end user skills & ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Excellent working experience in providing desktop support, imaging/re-imaging laptops
- Good knowledge of troubleshooting O365 services such as MS Outlook, Skype for Business, OneDrive.
- Must have experience with major operating systems such as Windows 10 and Mac OS X/macOS
- Preferably knowledge of Lotus Notes & IMAP
- Supervisory experience is an advantage
- Good command of English.
- Applicants must qualify for permanent residence permit for work purposes in Norway
